How to win a free five-day trip to Korea this month

The Korea Tourism Organization posted on its social media page to attract viewers with “special memories of Korea” to join their tour this May. The event was appropriately titled: “South Korea Invites the United States.”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization are inviting people with the best stories about special connections, unforgettable travel companions or tear-jerking moments in Korea to share their stories online for a chance to win a special trip sponsored by each organization.

The winner will get more than just an ordinary trip. According to the site, “the most compelling story will win a trip to Korea specifically customized to their story.” This means you have the chance to relive your best memories and get more in the land of K-pop without any cost. The Korea Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award winners with round-trip air tickets to South Korea, accommodation for five days and four nights, customized three-day tours, one-day connecting tours, travel insurance and other travel-related expenses.

Who can participate in KTO’s “Korea Invites U” competition:

Before you get in front of this competition, you should know that the trip is tentatively scheduled for May 20-24, 2024, which means all your travel documents must be valid during this period. In addition to checking all documents, all aspiring travelers must meet the following criteria to be eligible to win the above prizes:

• Entrants must be non-Korean nationals residing outside Korea
  (Korean citizens or residents are not eligible)
• You must have a unique Korean travel story

How to participate in KTO’s “Korea Invites U” competition:

All you have to do is share your special story about Korea in detail in up to 3,000 words. Applications are open from now until April 19th.

Feel free to add photos, videos, and other media related to your story to increase your chances of winning. Your story should include the following information:

• Why you should be chosen as the winner.
• Please provide details about your experience in Korea, including when, where, and who was with you.
• If you are selected for this tour, please share the places you would like to visit and the activities you would like to experience.
• Describe how you would share your experience in Korea with others if you were selected for this trip.

Go to the Korea Invites U website to submit your entry, click the “Apply” button at the bottom of the page, fill out the required fields of the application form and consent form, and you’re done!

You can submit a story on behalf of a friend or loved one. Just indicate this on your application. Submitted stories and other additional materials will be evaluated to determine the winner. Selected candidates can request an online interview and we will contact them via email. Winners will be announced via personal email on April 30, 2024.
