Da Nang Tourism, Vietnam holds its first roadshow in New Delhi


The Da Nang Tourism Authority, in cooperation with VietJet Air, organized a roadshow in New Delhi on August 4, 2022. The roadshow showcases destinations and introduces new direct flight routes connecting Da Nang and major cities in India.

The event introduced Indian tourism partners to one of Asia’s most popular destinations, Da Nang, a city full of exciting events and festivals. It contains all information on tourism products and services in Da Nang and Central Vietnam, especially leisure, MICE and weddings, and aims to promote tourism exchanges between Da Nang and India.

“Given the significant growth in trade and business exchanges between Vietnam and India, this is a golden period for us to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation to promote tourism recovery and growth,” said Nguyen Thị Hoai An, director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the organizers said.

“The 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India is a great opportunity for us to showcase our beautiful seaside city and its diverse tourism products and services, as well as promote MICE and wedding destinations to India,” said Nguyen. She believes the event kicks off A new chapter in tourism cooperation between New Delhi and Da Nang, Vietnam.

The event was attended by more than 90 guests including the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to India Pham Thanh Chau, Chairman of the Indian Association of Travel Agents Rajiv Mehra, Indian tourism companies and wedding planners.

Speaking at the roadshow, Pham Sanh Chau highlighted that Indian outbound tourism has grown significantly due to pent-up demand over the past two years. According to Pham, after COVID-19, the average number of visas for Indians entering Vietnam has surged 24-fold, from 250 visas per day before COVID-19 to 6,000 visas per day. In this regard, the Vietnamese embassy has received many requests for weddings or conferences in Vietnam.

Vietnam, India strengthen cooperation memorandum of understanding

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation and Partnership was held at the 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India, attended by ambassadors and tourism businesses.

Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center (DTPC), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism specializing in destination marketing and promotion, has formed a partnership with Global Aviation Services Ptv. Ltd (GASPL) promotes Da Nang in India. Under the MoU, the Da Nang agency pledged to support Indian clients who want to learn more about the new destination.

Global Aviation Services has been consulting DTPC since 2017 to promote its activities in India and the company is also the coordinator of the 2022 Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in India.

GASPL Group Managing Director Prabodh Tipnis believes that the company’s recent collaboration with the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and the strengthening of air connections from various cities in India to Da Nang will witness a surge in tourism from different tourism sectors. “The Da Nang Tourism Board will now have a local address in India, which can be reached through our office PAN India. This will also help increase the number of Indian trading partners the city has to offer, in addition to Dragon Bridge and Ba Na Hills. knowledge. The Da Nang Tourism Association (DTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Network of MICE Agents (NIMA) to develop the MICE segment. The DTA will respond to requests from its partners for MICE products and services, while attracting more MICE groups through its partnership with NIMA.

The partnership established in 2019 resulted in a series of webinars in 2020 co-organized by DTA and NIMA to provide Indian travel agents with destination knowledge.

According to NIMA National Coordinator Jagdeep Bhagat, the organization is keen to continue its relationship with the Da Nang Tourism Authority and believes in a lasting, constructive and progressive partnership between the two organizations for mutual benefit.

17 tourism companies representing the tourism community in Da Nang and Central Vietnam, including Furama Resort Danang, Vietnam Travel Mart, Vinpearl Group, Hoian Express, Almanity Resort & Spa, Hoa Binh Events, Vedana Lagoon Resort & Spa, participated in the event , to connect and introduce their products and services to over 120 travel and media partners in India.

The event generated over 1000 business meetings and interactions.

Business representatives shared their appreciation for the public-private partnership, saying that the organisers had staged the event at an opportune time to capture the market’s attention and foster connections between New Delhi and Indian tourism businesses.

Emphasizing the importance of the Indian inbound market for tourism recovery in many Asian destinations, especially Da Nang, Nguyen Duc Quynh, general manager of Furama Resort Danang, revealed plans to pamper Indian tourists with a focus on family groups, MICE and weddings, including setting up restaurants and wedding services catering to Indian tourists.

Luong Van Trang, Deputy Director of Travel Mart Vietnam, one of Da Nang’s leading tour operators, said that the company has resources ready for the Indian market and this event is a great opportunity for them to expand their connections with Indian tour operators and representative offices to attract India guest.The company is also partnering with VietJet Air to organise outbound and pilgrimage programmes from Vietnam to India
