World Tour and Journey to Japan──”VOGUE JAPAN” July 2023 Editor’s Note|Vogue Japan
Explore Shirakawa-go, a famous place in Gifu Prefecture!
In March, content leaders from around the world came together in Paris to discuss VOGUE’s global themes. Topics include travel, sustainability, what you want to buy, and what you want to keep in your memory and in your wardrobe. As you can see, our VOGUE JAPAN trip ends on the shores of Jennieverse!
When it comes to travel tips, who better than Jenny, who is now world number one and traveling the world? How does a superstar like this find time off? What would your ideal vacation be like? What’s in your travel bag? There is no end to what I want to ask. Our impression is that her teenage years in New Zealand merged with the hustle and bustle of Seoul and her travels (p. 56).
Dig deep into “Jenny’s World”!
As a member of BLACKPINK, Jenny has become a star and seems to be shining brighter, and the excitement of her performance at the headline Coachella music festival has not yet cooled, and she is caught. He’s about to make his debut on HBO’s “Idol,” which begins airing in June. Starring Lily-Rose Depp and starring The Weeknd, the show explores the ins and outs of the music industry and its extreme sexual exploitation. Now, Jenny is everywhere. Are we living in “Jenny’s world”? That’s what I thought.
Sri Lanka Environmental Tour
From music to movies and TV shows, Asia is certainly a destination worth visiting, fueled by the current wave of soft power. This issue features many travel ideas that will discover new attractions in the region. How about an eco-friendly trip to Sri Lanka? (page 68)

Cycling through the mountains of China is also good (p. 178).
Check out the latest domestic tourist attractions!
Travel destinations in Japan are changing and becoming more attractive than ever. Please turn the page to see the latest domestic tourist spots carefully selected by VOGUE JAPAN (page 92). Refurbished log cabins, ryokans that promote local consumption, and ultra-sustainable modern inns and hotels—these are all great places, should we keep them a secret from those living in Japan? The more I think about it, the more I feel! This also applies to the Tokyo Beauty Guide (p. 104).
The Latest Tokyo Beauty Guide
Everyone seems to be in love with Japan these days. Having said that, I have lived here for over 20 years and have rarely ventured off the beaten track. But this spring, I decided to take a step back into unfamiliar lands. The first place I went was Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go. Unfortunately, it was raining on the day I went, but I felt that everything was done with the typical hospitality of this land. This fall, during the festival, I’ll make sure to visit my 80-something friends I met on this trip who run the coolest izakaya and cafe in Takayama.
If you want to liven up your travel mood…
Finally, here are some of my travel tips. If you’ve come all the way to a rural area, it’s better to get out and enjoy the area than hang out in a hotel. Don’t forget your lipstick. If you have the chance, wear a playful suit instead of a T-shirt. Unique fashion will bring you closer to the locals. So be sure to check out our travel shopping guide (page 109). We have items like luggage, cameras and sunglasses to help you on your adventure. Of course, don’t forget about the fashion spirit!
