World Architecture Festival 2023 to be held in Singapore
The 2023 World Architecture Festival will be held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 29 November to 1 December. One of the nearly 250 completed projects shortlisted for this year’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) awards will be named World Building of the Year.
Since 2015, WAF will once again be hosted at the world-class venue Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the architects behind the world’s most innovative projects and experience live demonstrations by hundreds of renowned architects. In addition to the awards, there will be keynote speeches, product exhibitions and networking opportunities.
“We are very pleased with the number and quality of entries this year,” said WAF Program Director Paul Finch. “In a world undergoing countless crises, they remind us that architects continue to respond to everyday and unusual challenges with skill and imagination.”
Shortlisted projects include a mosque in Dubai, a panda breeding research facility in Chengdu, China, the recently opened Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport, the Holocaust Museum in Melbourne, Australia and a new national stadium in Cambodia.

16 nowthe th WAF is the world’s largest festival and live awards competition dedicated to celebrating and sharing architectural excellence around the globe. It is where the architecture community comes together to share expertise and learn from each other, and is the only global architecture festival that combines awards, workshops and networking.
This is the only award in which designers present their work to an expert jury and their peers – all broadcast live from the festival. In an intimate setting, you’ll be able to watch presentations from over 500 finalists, hear from the judges and learn the intricate details of some of the best architectural and interior projects in the world today.
Eighteen building categories will be assessed, including residential, commercial and cultural buildings. Winners in this category will compete for the coveted overall award, while other awards will recognize the best work in landscape architecture, proposed future projects and interiors, according to CNN.
