Wedding: What is the past life, present life and future life predicted by the monk? | Fashion Japan

If you choose Six Senses Bhutan’s all-inclusive plan, in addition to accommodation and meals, you will have a dedicated guide and driver during your stay, and activities are also included.

In Thimphu, the capital, we ask beginners to experience the natural beauty of Bhutan on foot, and visit the temple tour of Bhutanese Buddhism that you are interested in. Bhutan is a very devout country of Buddhists. Therefore, I wanted to visit temples and religious facilities to learn more about the lives and thoughts of the Bhutanese people.

Although Thimphu is the capital, it is surrounded by mountains and has no skyscrapers. Surprisingly, there are no traffic lights! There is only one kiosk in the whole city, and the police guide the cars with gestures. Still, the influx of people into the capital, Thimphu, is on the rise, and Bhutanese-style apartments are being built across the city.

In the center of Thimphu, there are the royal palace, the main Buddhist monastery of Bhutan, and the political and religious center of Bhutan “Tashi Huozong”, and there are many government agencies in the surrounding area. Since this is both a political facility and a religious facility, formal attire must be worn to enter the museum, and the tour guide will also wear a piece of cloth called Kamuni from his shoulders. Tashichho Dzong is built using traditional techniques that do not use a single nail. Its majestic exterior is a must-see.

Thimphu has many other unique religious sites, large and small. One of the most interesting is the 16th century astrological (fortune-telling) monastery called “Pangri Jampa Lhakhang”. I don’t see the connection between “monk” and “fortune telling” at all, but in Bhutanese Buddhism, astrology is prevalent due to the influence of Chinese culture as well as Buddhist teachings. He said he would get it.

Therefore, I also asked the tour guide to help me arrange, and asked the monk to help me tell the fortune. The monk who came to watch this time is a teacher. After studying astrology for about seven or eight years, he has taught fortune-telling to more than one hundred monks in the past eight years.

Guided by our guide, we walked through a dimly lit corridor inside the monastery to a compact room with a bed and desk and a computer.

The fortune-telling begins when you say hello to the crimson-robed monk and sit on the carpet laid out for the guests.

Your guide will translate Dzongkha, the official language of Bhutan, into English and will follow instructions to tell you your date of birth and name. Then the monk wrote on something like a small blackboard, and then flipped through the book to start researching.

After a while, the monk raised his head, first said my zodiac sign, and then said which one of the five elements I belong to, and which one of the nine numbers of Jiuxing Xuele.

Next, it tells you the lucky days of the week, the unlucky days you should avoid making big decisions, and the days you should go to the hospital.

picture? When are you going to the hospital?

As someone who came over from Japan, it made me wonder, “Aren’t you supposed to go when you’re sick?” I went to the doctor, and I sometimes encountered tigers and wild animals.

And it is also the highlight of fortune-telling. You can see what you will do in the reincarnation of your past life, present life and future life, and what will happen in the future. At this time, we also read about individual issues such as relationships with partners, changing jobs, timing of the move, and more.

This type of astrology seems to be common in Bhutan, with some people looking for compatibility with their partner before the birth of a child or marriage. Know the compatibility with the other person, what kind of things you should avoid, the compatibility between two people and so on.

Finally, the fortune telling ends with advice on how to increase luck and rebirth in the afterlife.

Although it is fortune telling, I think I understand the meaning of monk fortune telling when I hear that all the advice about life is connected with Buddhist teachings such as “afterlife” and “giving alms”.

Apart from this fortune telling, I also had an interesting experience with Bhutanese Buddhism. Six Senses when I went to the monastery “Talakha Monestery” about an hour up the hill behind Thimphu. Even if it is an hour’s hike, the altitude is about 3,000 meters, which is quite strenuous. However, when we reached the monastery at the top of the hill, we were greeted with a wonderful view of Thimphu city and lovely little monks including monks.

Children can enter the monastery from the age of 6, and they can not only learn to read and write, but also learn Buddhism and musical instruments for 8 years. Like other Buddhist countries, monks in Bhutan have a very high status. Some children want to become monks, and some children enter the monastery for financial reasons.

As I listened to the stories of the monks in front of the great panorama of Thimphu, I heard that one of the children was the reincarnation of the founder of the monastery. A kid who doesn’t know anything starts saying things like “here’s that thing, that thing happened at that time”. It seems to have become.

Bhutanese Buddhism is very profound.
