Volvo CE welcomes Indonesian delegation to Motherwell Rigid Hauler plant

The Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) factory in Motherwell, UK, recently hosted a group of visitors from Indonesia who were shown the factory facilities and the R60 Rigid Dump Truck (RDT) on display.
The event was moderated by Erwin Budi, Head of Key Accounts, Volvo CE Indonesia, and Luciano Suetugo, Head of Product Marketing, Trucks and Loaders, Asia, and a delegation of Volvo CE representatives, dealers and customers from Indonesia traveled to Scotland to visit Volvo CE Company Rigid Transit Factory, get a personalized experience with the new R60.
They were joined by Hendro Sugito, After Sales Director of Volvo CE’s Indonesian dealer Indotruck Utama. Also in attendance were two customers who already operate a fleet of Volvo RDT machines: M Yunus Anis, Operations Director of Hasnur Riung Sinergi, and Edi Suryadi, COO of Prima Sarana Gemilang, which currently operates 35 R60D machines, according to The OEM said it was looking for alternative units to upgrade its non-Volvo fleet.
The trip started with a visit to the manufacturing plant and an inspection of the R60 on a test bench. The next day we visited a nearby construction site to see the R60 in action and had the chance to enjoy the smooth ride of the R60. Distributors and customer representatives then returned to Indonesia, while Budi and Suetugo underwent two days of R60 intensive product training. To this end, they were joined by Volvo CE colleagues from Europe, North America and Latin America.

The R60 has huge potential in Indonesia and it features many advancements over the previous R60D, including a new engine, gearbox and suspension.

According to Volvo Construction Equipment, the R60E is the successor to the R60D, introducing a range of new features and design improvements that set new standards for reliable and high-performance rigid trucks. This model has a more powerful engine that delivers more power and torque for tough tasks. The company says a new generation of transmission shift control ensures smoother and more precise gear changes, while updated adaptive control of the retarder system improves braking efficiency. The operator environment has also been upgraded with a modern control panel that provides intuitive access to functions and overall improved ride comfort.
