Vietnam travel restrictions on tourists to be eased three months earlier
Vietnam’s travel restrictions on travelers, including those from the UK, will be lifted three months earlier than planned, but coronavirus testing and vaccination rules will remain in place
Vietnam is preparing to lift travel restrictions on international tourists nearly three months earlier than planned, meaning holidays could resume soon.
The country’s authorities have approved a proposal to lift border restrictions from March 15, marking the first time the country has fully reopened to holidaymakers since March 2020.
Currently, Vietnam has suspended visa exemption and entry of foreign citizens, but as long as it is a government-approved group tour, Vietnam will be open to a small number of tourists.
It has taken a step towards easing restrictions this week after the government lifted a ban on international flights.

International travel will fully restart from next month, but entry requirements will still apply, according to local state media.
First, it will only reopen to fully vaccinated tourists, which includes taking a full vaccination course within 12 months of the date of entry and at least 14 days before travel.
Those who can show evidence of recovery from Covid will also be able to visit.
All travelers must also undergo a Covid test before flying; this can be a PCR test within 72 hours of travel or an antigen test within 24 hours.
All arrivals will then undergo a second test in Vietnam and must quarantine for one night in an approved hotel while awaiting results.

Vietnam isn’t the only country looking to reopen its borders to tourists in the coming months.
Australia recently revealed it would welcome back vaccinated Britons from February, while New Zealand unveiled a phased reopening plan that could allow most Britons to come on holiday from July.
Where can I go on holiday from the UK right now?
Meanwhile, a growing number of countries have canceled Covid tests for vaccinated Britons, including popular European holiday destinations such as Portugal, Greece and France.
The UK’s latest travel rule changes have also eased restrictions for travellers.
Fully vaccinated arrivals will no longer need to take any Covid tests, meaning they will only need to complete a pre-departure form.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers have lifted their self-isolation, but they will still need to take a Covid test before departure or upon arrival.
