However, you need to check Vietnam visa requirements before your visit. Many international visitors to Vietnam require a Vietnam tourist visa to enter the country. Fortunately, this is a very simple visa.

Do I need a visa to visit Vietnam?
Most international travelers require a visa to enter Vietnam. Vietnam offers tourist visa waivers for 14 to 90 days to citizens of 24 countries holding valid ordinary passports. This includes many Asian and European countries, as well as Chile. Find a full list of exempt countries here.
The most popular visa types are Vietnam Electronic Visa, Tourist Visa (DL), Business Visa (DNL, DN2), Student/Internship Visa (DH), Investor Visa (DT1, DT2, DT3, DT4), Work Visa (LD1 -LD2) ) and diplomatic visa (NG). These visas include traveling to Vietnam for tourism, attending conferences, studying and working in Vietnam.
Does Vietnam issue tourist visa?
Vietnam has suspended the entry of foreign citizens from March 22, 2020. However, Vietnam will reopen its borders to foreign tourists on March 15, 2022. Tourist visas will again be issued to international visitors. The proposed reopening date is 3 months earlier than originally planned.
What types of restrictions are currently in place in Vietnam?
While borders will be open to international travellers, they will still be subject to some health requirements. These include:
- Possess valid proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Negative PCR COVID-19 test before departure (within 72 hours of arrival in Vietnam)
- Lateral Stream Test on Arrival
- Quarantine for 1 day upon arrival until they receive a negative test result
- Health insurance covering travel (minimum coverage of $50,000 required)
Travel to Vietnam remains restricted for foreigners who do not meet the above requirements. Entry restrictions will remain in place for unvaccinated foreigners. Additionally, visitors who are not dual vaccinated will be required to quarantine at the hotel for a week and undergo PCR testing on days 1 and 7.
A COVID-19 Certificate of Recovery is also acceptable.

Can I get an e-visa for Vietnam?
Nationals from 80 countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and many Asian, European, and South American countries, can obtain an e-Visa for Vietnam.
The e-Visa takes only three days to process and costs $25. It is a single entry visa valid for 30 days.
You can enter Vietnam with an e-visa at any of the country’s eight international airports, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, as well as 14 land crossings and seven seaports.

How can I get a multiple entry Vietnam visa?
If you want Vietnam multiple entry visa or plan to stay more than 30 days, you can apply for visa on arrival.
Here’s what you need:
- One 4×6 passport photo, with a white background, without glasses
- A completed visa application form
- Passport valid for six months from the date you plan to enter Vietnam
- Pay visa fee ($25-$50) (cash)
- Letter of approval required to apply online prior to arrival
Upon arrival, you will need to present the above documents and pay a fee to obtain a visa stamp. Single-entry visas are an additional $25 and multiple-entry visas are an additional $50. You need to pay in cash, either USD or Vietnamese Dong.
How can I get a Vietnam business visa?
If you are traveling to Vietnam for business, you can get a Vietnam business visa. There are two types of Vietnam business visas, divided into DN1 and DN2.
DN1 visa is for foreigners working in other enterprises and organizations with legal status in Vietnam. DN2 visa is for foreigners who come to Vietnam to provide services, establish business presence or carry out other activities in accordance with international treaties to which Vietnam is a party.
The duration of a Vietnam business visa varies from 30 days to 12 months and can be single entry or multiple entry. Like a tourist visa, you can also obtain a business visa on arrival, or apply before arrival at your nearest embassy. Note that if you apply through the local embassy in your country, a sponsorship letter from a licensed company in Vietnam is required.
