Vietnam sees recovery in inbound tourism

This was demonstrated at the recently concluded 16th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo 2022 (ITE HCMC 2022). The three-day exhibition attracted a total of more than 22,000 visitors and 8,600 buyer-seller meetings, an increase of 42% over expectations, connecting more international and local tourism companies, further promoting the tourism recovery in the Mekong sub-region .

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Office shared: “Thanks to the continuous efforts, determination and cooperation among tourism authorities, businesses and organizations, Vietnam’s tourism industry has given up impressive growth. ITE HCMC 2022 has proven itself to be The leading tourism event in Vietnam and the Mekong sub-region, and an ideal platform for all tourism sectors and businesses to attract international tourists to Vietnam and strengthen cooperation between tourism businesses and potential businesses in the Mekong sub-region Global Market”.

The results reaffirm Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam’s post-pandemic inbound tourism recovery through open-door policies, product innovation and service quality. It also reinforces Ho Chi Minh City’s importance as a trade and tourism gateway, linking Vietnam with other countries in the Mekong subregion.

ITE HCMC showcased the strong participation of 305 international and local travel companies, 161 international buyers from 18 countries and regions, and 21 international media from well-known travel, lifestyle, travel and broadcasting platforms. More than 20 forums, business meetings, side events were held, attracting 60 local and international tourism experts and 2,500 delegates.

The Consumer Day held on the last day of ITE HCMC 2022 attracted over 10,000 public visitors and offered them exclusive special travel promotions on air tickets, accommodation and travel packages. Visitors also experienced various performances and traditional presentations on music and culinary culture from international and exhibition stands.
