Travel bubbles in Singapore and Hong Kong: How Covid-19 rules differ between the two cities
SINGAPORE/HONG KONG – Singapore and Hong Kong have adopted different social distancing norms to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
Below are the rules currently in place by the authorities. Any changes will be subject to future announcements.

– Everyone must wear a mask when going out. Masks should only be removed by those engaging in strenuous exercise or eating or drinking. But they must put on the mask immediately after they are done.
– All individuals must maintain a distance of at least 1m from each other in public places.
– Social gatherings of up to five people are allowed and they can be from different households. The number of visitors per household is also limited to five.
Families with more than five people can go out together, but gatherings of more than five people are not allowed in catering establishments.
– Shopping malls, restaurants and movie theaters must conduct temperature checks at the entrance. Nightclubs remain closed.
The sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in food and beverage establishments after 10.30pm.
Movie theaters have capacity limitations. For example, a large movie theater with more than 300 seats can accommodate up to 150 patrons.
