Tourism generates more than 1 trillion baht in 7 months

Deputy Government Spokesperson Ms Trisulee Trisaranakul said the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported that tourism remained an expanding industry and an important driver of the economy.

In the first seven months of this year, tourism earned a total of 1.084 trillion baht from Thai and foreign tourists. Of this, 638 billion baht came from international tourists. The number of foreign tourists this year is expected to meet the target set by the government of at least 25 million.

From January to July, more than 15 million foreign tourists visited Thailand, an increase of 384% compared with the first seven months of last year.

The top 5 countries with the most tourists to Thailand were Malaysia (2,439,710 tourists), China (1,839,660 tourists), South Korea (907,463 tourists), India (885,772 tourists) and Russia (854,946 tourists). “

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will host the 41st Tourism Thailand Festival 2023 (TTF2023) at Halls 5-8, LG Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The mega-event is aimed at stimulating domestic tourism for the rest of the year.

The festival focuses on the culture, lifestyle and unique characteristics of Thailand’s five regions, drawing attention to unseen tourist destinations.

The event, which involves tourism partners from the government and private sector, is divided into 8 zones and hosts a series of entertainment featuring various artists.
