Following a successful inaugural flight last year, Air Canada will resume nonstop flights from Vancouver to Bangkok this December.
“We are very happy and proud to share with you that this flight was a brilliant outcome,” said Maria LouAir Canada Senior Manager Asia Specialty Sales addressed attendees.
“We’re doing really well, with almost every day full in both directions, which is why we’re delighted to resume the flight again this winter.”
Lu shared that the direct service comes from Vancouver Flights to Bangkok will operate seasonally from December 2023 to March 2024, increasing frequency from four flights per week last year to five flights per week this year.

Lu stressed that one of the new options coming soon will include travel from Vancouver to Singaporeto be launched in April 2024, with four flights per week.
“Our Star Alliance partners will allow customers to travel seamlessly between Thailand and Singapore. We will be able to support you in creating destination itineraries in many different ways,” she said.

More than 100,000 Canadians will already visit Thailand in 2023, thanks in part to Air Canada’s nonstop flights, Spysak said. In comparison, Thailand received about 252,000 tourists in all of 2019.
“We feel like our recovery has been very successful,” he said.
Schubert said Canadians remain among the top tourists in Thailand. “We have over 16 repeat customers and the current regular stay is over 16 days, which is unbelievable,” she says. “The Air Canada partnership has really been instrumental in growing our flight numbers.”
Luo emphasized the importance of agents in making Canada’s tourist numbers possible. “We do work closely with our travel trade partners because we believe travel trade is very important for us to promote our services to our respective customers,” he said.
In his presentation, Spysak encouraged agents to take advantage of the Thailand Expert Portal, which aggregates information on more than 200 hotels and provides access to webinars and virtual tours.
It also provides agents with the opportunity to obtain the “Thailand Expert” certification for tourism sales in Thailand.
“Thailand is a bit different—it’s not just about the sun and the beaches. It’s also about the food, the culture and the history,” says Lo.
