The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) held the “2023 Tokyo Amazing Thailand Amazing New Chapter Roadshow” in Tokyo on May 18.
24 suppliers including hotels and airlines from Thailand came to Japan for roadshows, visited each city and held business meetings for Japanese travel agencies. Under the theme “Meet the Suppliers”, information was exchanged on tourism products and services to be developed this year.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Kajongdeet Apichatrakul, director of the Tokyo Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stepped onto the podium and addressed the participants.
Regarding the purpose of this roadshow, he said, “By meeting directly with many exhibitors in Thailand, we can not only collect the latest product information, but also build mutual trust between the two countries and create new business opportunities.” After the restraint, for the first time in four years a real event was realized, much to his delight.
In 2023, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will continue to focus on the “Visit Thailand Year” tourism activities following last year, and will carry out various promotions and initiatives.
We have set a goal of “returning the number of tourists and income to about 75% of the pre-coronavirus crisis in 2019” in the Thai inbound market. We expect that there will be about 25 million to 30 million Thai tourists from all over the world. In addition, the Japanese market hopes to welcome 870,000 tourists, a recovery of about 48% compared to 2019.
To drive this forward, we are working with travel agencies across Japan to propose various travel experiences, especially for high-potential groups such as millennials, business travelers, sports enthusiasts, and active seniors. I want to go there,” said Kajongdeet Apichartracun.
Through rich tourism themes such as precious historical and cultural heritage, nature represented by beautiful beaches, Thai food, and tropical fruits, “I believe we will be able to provide comfort, surprise, and joy to everyone in Japan.” Appeal.
