The Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2023, Thailand’s premier B2B travel event, opened on May 31, 2023, offering new opportunities for global buyers seeking unique and significant travel experiences in Thailand and the ASEAN region.

Under the theme “Travel Thailand 2023: An Exciting New Chapter”, TTM+ 2023 aligns with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) strategy to highlight the country’s ongoing efforts to enable meaningful travel.The objective is to promote the distribution of tourism revenues across the country, while at the same time utilizing Thailand’s 5F soft power foundation – Food, Movies, Festivals, Fighting and Fashion.

The positive rebound in tourism was evident in the strong participation at TTM+ 2023, which included 374 buyers from 50 countries, 435 booths of quality sellers from Thailand and the GMS region, and 112 media representatives from home and abroad .

His Excellency Mr. Phipa Ratchajibgan, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, officiated the opening ceremony and emphasized that TTM+ 2023 showcases the progress of Thailand’s tourism industry in sustainable development and becoming a premium destination. The event is an important platform to foster long-term business relationships and emphasizes the use of sustainable standards, technology and Thailand’s soft power to transform the country’s tourism industry.

This year, TTM+ returns to Bangkok this year as part of TAT’s strategy to promote provincial destinations, following previous years in Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. This presents an opportunity for overseas buyers and media to witness first-hand the growth in facilities, infrastructure and business prospects that Bangkok has to offer as tourism returns to normal.

The opening day event, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok from 31 May to 2 June, will include Thai products and Cambodia presentations on the latest developments in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), as well as TTM on the subject Lecture “Using Innovative Technology to Build a Sustainable Future for Tourism” presented by Google Cloud Thailand.

The Thailand Pavilion served as a focal point for business negotiations while also reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable development through technology, digital transformation and sustainable practices. In addition to dedicated booths for “Technology” and “Net Zero Tourism”, TAT’s pavilion also showcased unique travel-related products and DIY workshops, highlighting the meaningful travel experiences Thailand has to offer. In addition, there will be activities such as fruit exhibitions and tastings, as well as organic coffee brewing demonstrations, as well as small Thai snacks.
