Taiwan resumes visa-free entry to some countries including Malaysia!
Taiwan further opens its borders to eligible countries. According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), from September 29, 2022, several countries, including Malaysia, will fully resume the Taiwan visa-free entry program.
Eligible nationals of visa-free countries can engage in visa-free activities such as business, exhibition visits, field trips, international exchanges, family visits, tourism, and social activities in Taiwan.
Starting September 29, countries such as Chile, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia can enter Taiwan visa-free and do not require a PCR Covid-19 test upon arrival. Malaysia is eligible for the Visa Waiver Program for stays of up to 30 days. Check out the full list here.
Previously, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and many other countries have announced that they can enter Taiwan visa-free from September 12. Please click here to view the full list.
This is the first phase of border reopening, with tourist numbers capped at 60,000. The rule of “three days of isolation, four days of self-prevention” still exists, and one person has one room. Although PCR testing is not required upon arrival, rapid home testing is still required on the day of arrival and on the third day of isolation.
