Students hospitalized after alleged gas leak in Kalol | Ahmedabad News
Ahmedabad: Three students of BAMS College carol They were exposed to a toxic gas apparently released from a unit within the Kalol GIDC estate on Saturday night. Two of them required hospitalization.

“Three schoolgirls felt breathless and fainted after inhaling toxic gas that may have been released from a factory in an industrial area. A Swaminarayan priest and some students went to the factory to protest,” said Kalol Taluka Police Inspector JR Patel said.
About 100 students and other locals gathered at the scene, Patel said, claiming the gas was released from a unit called Sahyog Organics Private Ltd.
Two girls – Vidhi Patel from Dholka and Vidi Sawadia From Wadhwan – taken to hospital in Swaminarayan Educational Park on Ahmedabad-Mehsana Highway.
Patel said Gandhinagar Fire Brigade and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) be informed.
He said locals kept raising the issue of air pollution in the area, urging the GPCB to deal with it.
Kalol MLA Lakshman Thakor said he rushed to the scene as soon as he learned of the gas leak and found that some students were affected. He said the issue would be raised with the state government.
