Singapore and Malaysia Travel Requirements & Restrictions
From 1 April 2022, the border between Malaysia and Singapore will be fully open! However, there are still some SOPs to be aware of before you head to Malaysia or Singapore.
From Singapore to Malaysia
From 1 April 2022, you can travel to Malaysia without quarantine on any flight as long as you meet the following conditions fully inoculated. If you have not been vaccinated or have not received the dose required to be considered fully vaccinated, you must quarantine for five days upon arrival. However, some SOPs still exist:
1. From 1 May, fully vaccinated travellers to Malaysia will no longer be required to undergo any pre-departure or on-arrival COVID tests.
2. However, you must be in MySejahtera mobile application. Before traveling to Malaysia, you must complete and submit the traveler form via the traveler icon on the app.
3. If you are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated, you will need to purchase mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of $20,000. You will also undergo a pre-departure test. If you are over 18, you will be required to quarantine for five days.

COVID restrictions in Malaysia
From May 1, 2022, masks will be optional in outdoor areas. However, it is still needed when indoors. Please note that some attractions and/or facilities may also have caps on the maximum number of visitors allowed. Checking in with the MySejahtera app will also be removed. However, as a traveler, you still need it for immigration purposes.

From Malaysia to Singapore
From 1 April 2022, Singapore will transition from the VTL to a more generic vaccination travel framework. You can enter Singapore free of quarantine as long as you do not spend a period of time in a country listed as “restricted” in the 7 days prior to arrival. Currently, there are no such countries on this list.
Under the new travel arrangements, all fully vaccinated travellers can enter Singapore without quarantine and without the need for designated VTL flights. If you are not vaccinated or fully vaccinated, you will receive a 7-day Stay Home Notice (SHN).
From April 26, 2022, passengers travelling from Malaysia to Singapore will no longer be required to undergo a pre-departure test (PDT) or an on-arrival test, whether they arrive by land, sea or air.
However, travellers must ensure they complete and submit their Singapore Arrival Card and download the TraceTogether app three days before departure.
Singapore local travel restrictions
During your stay in Singapore, you must adhere to the current public health measures at all times. Learn more about the latest COVID restrictions in Singapore here.
However, it is important to note that starting April 1, 2022, masks in public outdoor settings are now optional. That said, it might be a good idea to carry one with you when you go out for convenience. That’s because you still need to wear them in indoor spaces.

Additionally, you must regularly update the TraceTogether app for contact tracing. Visitors using TraceTogether tokens must carry their tokens with them wherever they go.
Visitors must return their own TraceTogether Tokens in person at the designated TraceTogether Token Return Kiosk/Counter before departing for Malaysia.
