Sedunia Travel’s polar expeditions beckon the bold
Add to your bucket list with unforgettable voyages to the Arctic and Antarctic
Picture yourself amidst the icy majesty of the Arctic, as playful kelpies frolic on pristine ice floes, or witness penguins waddling across the vast white plains of Antarctica.
For countless intrepid travelers, setting foot on the two extreme ends of the planet is a dream come true – and Sedunia Travel makes it happen.
As renowned travel experts, Sedunia Travel understands that travel is more than sightseeing; it is an adventure of unforgettable encounters and mouth-watering stories of conquering unknown territories.
Seasoned travelers craving extraordinary adventure can set sail to the Arctic and Antarctica with Sedunia Travel, who will weave customized itineraries that are both luxurious and unforgettable.
the road less traveled
Boasting magical, frost-covered landscapes in the Arctic and Antarctica in the southern hemisphere, they are some of the most remote and pristine places on Earth.
It’s impossible not to be mesmerized by a journey to the wilderness of these two extreme polar regions, dotted with fjords, jagged mountains, steep valleys and cliffs.
In the Arctic, adventurous travelers can spot majestic polar bears, a variety of birds, reindeer and foxes. Those who explore Antarctica will experience an abundance of marine life, including whales, penguins and seals, among many others.
But getting to these “ends of the world” isn’t easy. Flying is out of the question, as these remote areas on the massive ice sheet can only be reached a few times a year and are not accessible by traditional boats.
To make adventures a reality for explorers, Sedunia Travel has partnered with Ponant – a French luxury expedition cruise line specializing in deep polar expeditions.
Its newest fleet – Le Commandant Charcot – is the pinnacle of adventure and luxury. This extraordinary vessel is the first luxury hybrid polar exploration vessel powered by LNG, redefining the standard for sustainable exploration.
The advanced vessel also becomes the world’s first passenger ship to feature a Polar Class 2 (PC2) hull, allowing it to traverse floating sea ice and access the most isolated and remote areas, conditions permitting.
luxury adventure
Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot places exceptional experiences at the heart of its operations. The luxury ship features 123 well-appointed suites and staterooms with private balconies and terraces for guests to enjoy panoramic views of the region’s mesmerizing landscape.
On board, passengers will also find an array of amenities, from a French restaurant and 270-seat theater to a wellness lounge and cigar bar, as well as a stunning open-air heated swimming pool with incredible views on the top deck.
One of the few Malaysian travelers to have experienced this life-changing journey, Helen Lim embarked on an 11-day expedition to the Amassalik region of East Greenland. She said boarding Le Commandant Charcot felt like a spoiled explorer.
“Life on board is like living on a larger scale private yacht. Being able to explore some of the most remote areas of the world while enjoying high-quality French food and wine is an adventure that few are lucky enough to experience,” she said, adding that the ship was a marvel of modern engineering.
Lim found himself completely captivated by the experience of exploring the Ammassalik region, a remote settlement of the Inuit people.
world top
Sugantha Muthukrishnan is one of the Malaysians who has achieved a lifelong travel dream when she embarked on a 16-day voyage to the geographical North Pole with Sedunia Travel aboard Le Commandant Charcot.
“I am filled with ecstatic joy and a huge sense of personal accomplishment,” Sugantha said from the top of the world at 90 degrees north latitude.
During the expedition, Sugantha recounted the thrilling moment she spotted 13 polar bears near the ship, adding another thrilling highlight to her adventure.
dream bucket list
For Ali Munawar, his dream came true when he ventured to Antarctica aboard the ship Le Commandant Charcot and was surrounded by the world’s southernmost wilderness.
“I am ecstatic to finally be able to cross the Antarctic Circle and even set foot on land beyond the Antarctic Circle.” Ali said that his wish list includes crossing the equator, the Tropic of Cancer, the Arctic Circle, the Tropic of Capricorn, Greenwich and the Antarctic Circle.
The 15-day expedition crossed the Drake Passage (often considered one of the most thrilling sea voyages) before sailing into the Bellingshausen Sea, where conditions became increasingly extreme and covered in sea ice.
Ali, an avid traveler, said the experience aboard the magnificent luxury cruise ship made the trip even more unforgettable.
“I have been on cruises before but my experience on Le Commandant Charcot was first class. The cuisine was excellent, especially catering for Muslim dietary requirements which mainly included vegetarian and seafood.
