Saudi Ministry of Justice launches digitally notarized electronic contracts
RIYADH – The Saudi Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on Thursday launched digitally notarized electronic contracts, which are considered a law enforcement tool aimed at enhancing preventive justice and protecting contractual rights.
“The ministry is working with several regulators to study the implementation of digital notarization to protect all contractual obligations and commitments,” the ministry said.
“The executive judiciary sees digitally notarized electronic contracts as an enforcement tool that safeguards the rights of all parties and enables prompt execution.”
With the launch of the product, the ministry aims to create unified electronic contracts with notary integration and promote preventive justice. It also aims to support various sectors, improve judicial indicators, and achieve global leadership in contract enforcement.
The initiative has gone through several stages, including the legal and notarial basis for the recognition of contracts as an enforcement tool, the study of the facts of the contract and the validity of the recognition as an enforcement tool, legal review of contracts and integration with the Ministry’s systems.
