The entire metropolis of Neom looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, and so does Troyna. As well as the ski resort, the area will also feature a three-kilometre man-made lake and a folded vertical village called “The Vault”. Nestled in one of the valleys, it “has its own microclimate, lush greenery, water features and transformative architecture.”

This high-altitude ski village at 2,400 meters above sea level is “Saudi Arabia’s first ski village”. The plan is to have multiple slopes for people to ski. The pistes promise to satisfy both professionals and amateurs.

Best of all, outdoor skiing will be open year-round—just not always on snowy terrain. Trojena will utilize different surfaces. A video showing a skier descending what appears to be a grassy slope is sure to be a unique experience for visitors.

In addition to the architecturally complex Vault and ski resort, Trojena will feature a range of retail outlets as well as family and wellness resorts. Other sporting activities include mountain biking and water sports, while those who prefer a relaxing time in nature can spend the day at the Interactive Nature Reserve. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
