Saran: Rudi claims caste politics behind 2 deaths in Saran | Patna News
Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy Thursday claimed caste was a factor in recent killings of two young men Saran district and questioned whether the state government was testing the waters to see if caste conflict was enough to bolster its politics. He urged the center to send a team to assess the real situation on the ground.
“On the one hand, people are being killed in the area for drinking illegal alcohol, and on the other hand, young boys are being mercilessly killed. The situation is very worrying. Why is Saran being targeted? Is there a political motivation to make it a case of caste-based violence? ‘Lab’? Does the state government want to check the ‘pulse’ to see if the caste algorithm works in its favour,” Rudy explain.
Rudy’s allegations against the state government come at a time when a caste-based investigation is underway in Bihar. The state government used its own resources to launch the probe after the BJP-led NDA government rejected the request. The former union minister claimed that the state government’s measures to control the situation following the deaths of two young people in Saran were not enough and that the central government should intervene.

A total of 16 people were arrested and six flight intelligence reports were filed on the incident, Saran SP Gaurav Mangla told reporters on Thursday. SP was present during the attachment process at the house of lead accused Vijay Rai who evaded arrest.
