“Technology Fast 50 2022 Japan” is the Japanese version of the country ranking project, which aims to recognize growth companies in the TMT industry organized by Deloitte worldwide. It is a benchmark for the growth potential and success of the TMT industry, and this year marks its 20th edition. Based on companies in the TMT industry, regardless of whether they are listed or unlisted, the top 50 companies with the highest revenue (sales) growth rate in the past three accounting periods were selected.

In the wake of COVID-19, the societal value of natural activities such as mountaineering and outdoor activities has begun to be reconsidered. YAMAP’s mission is to promote mountaineering and outdoor activities not only as a trend but as a culture that takes root in society.
To clarify where we stand, we’ve set a new goal in August 2022, “Connecting the Joy of the Planet”. Hone your five senses by walking in nature such as mountains and forests. Through the experience of nature, we realize that human beings are also a part of nature. We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate nature.
Sales for the ninth period of the most recent fiscal year were 1,221,880,000 yen, an increase of 159% year-on-year.
The main growth factors are (1) increase in the number of YAMAP Premium members, (2) increase in YAMAP STORE sales, and (3) promotion of cooperation and alliances with local governments and private companies. In particular, the increase in the number of YAMAP Premium members and the strong growth of YAMAP STORE drove the increase in sales.
Going forward, we will continue to make upfront investments while steadily ramping up profitability and accounting for some level of deficit. As a venture capital firm, we will continue to focus on building the organization, consolidating business foundations and developing new businesses, with the priority not only on short-term sales, but also on mid- to long-term impact and long-term profits.
In order to realize the purpose of YAMAP “Joy connected with the earth”, we will continue to move forward step by step, just like climbing a mountain.
