according to a report the whole country, the ban applies to countries where a “more transmissible variant” of COVID-19 has been detected. In fact, these restrictions also apply to Filipinos who want to return to their country.
The report further noted that the flight ban has been extended to January 31 from the original 19 countries and territories, presidential spokesman Harry Roque said.
Therefore, according to the ban, travelers wishing to visit the country from the following places will be prohibited from doing so: India, United States, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, according to the report.
Previously, Filipinos were allowed to return to their country even if they wanted to return from one of the aforementioned “prohibited” countries. The only condition is that they must complete a 14-day quarantine in a government-designated quarantine facility. Now, the country’s coronavirus task force will issue exemptions on a case-by-case basis.
