Manila, Philippines — This year’s 2019 Philippine Travel Mart (PTM), the so-called longest-running travel trade fair in the Philippines, is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 1, 2019.
The event’s organizer, the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), promises the event will be “the most memorable” as the show now marks its 30th anniversary.
This year, the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City will be packed with more than 250 exhibitors. Participants include hotels/resorts, theme parks, airlines, and tour and travel agencies.
The four halls of the conference center will be divided into four areas. The pink zone will be occupied by exhibitors from culinary and wellness; the blue zone for cruises, sun, beach and sea sports; the green nature for culture and farm tourism; and the yellow zone for conventions and entertainment.
specific dates to remember
If you are interested in participating in PTM, you must take note of the following important dates: Open to the public from 30 August to 1 September 2019 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Note, however, that the show will begin at 11:00am on August 30th as it will be exclusive to the industry from 8:00am to 11:00am. During this time, foreign and corporate buyers will meet and visit the trade show participants.
The goal of PTM
Its purpose is to promote and develop domestic and inbound tourism. The event will showcase the best attractions and tourism offerings in different parts of the country.
But, of course, it will also facilitate intra-regional travel, since the Philippines is part of the ASEAN community. That’s why visitors to PTM can expect to see products from a range of ASEAN countries including China, Japan and Korea.
Special products for millennials
The campaign is specifically aimed at millennials. Therefore, PTM will be giving them some promotions and products. One can expect to see such products online before and during the show. Before the event, there will also be some promotional competitions. Winners will receive travel vouchers worth Php 5,000 to Php 25,000, which they can redeem when purchasing travel packages during the event.
This year’s theme
Using the theme of “promoting sustainable and inclusive tourism,” organizers said they would use electronic boards instead of non-biodegradable materials in their marketing materials. Exhibitors and organizers will also use paperless transactions for most of the show.
Town Sales B to C Meeting
This allows customers to “book and buy” promotional flight deals, promotional vacation packages, accommodation and more. It’s also worth noting that shoppers can enjoy savings of up to 70% off island fun tour caravans and ‘bucket’ list destination packages.
PTM’s Cultural Events
In order to attract more consumers, a number of cultural activities will be held simultaneously during the exhibition. For example, competitions such as Himig ng Kundiman, Eco Chorale, Cultural Dance Competition, Patimpalak ng Kasuotang Pilipino, and the Philippine Travel Quiz Bee Finals will be held. Those who intend to participate in the above cultural activities and competitions can check the mechanism and important schedule through the organizer’s website: www.philtoa.com.
