New Taipei City reminds residents to ban fireworks
The New Taipei City Fire Department reminded the public on Sunday that setting off fireworks and firecrackers in the city at night can result in a fine of up to NT$150,000.
New Taipei City government official Zhuang Yuyuan said that the New Taipei City government divides fireworks and firecrackers into two categories: professional use and general use.
Professional use of fireworks, such as the firework displays at Yangmingshan Tien Lai Hot Spring Hotel and CT Green Bay Hot Spring Hotel on Saturday night, must be approved by the city government, Zhuang said.

Zhuang said that fireworks for normal use refer to fireworks and firecrackers that are available for personal use, and certain rules should also be followed.
People cannot set off normally used fireworks or firecrackers, such as fireworks, in schools, libraries, hospitals, care centers, ports, docks, subways and train stations, Zhuang said.
From 10 pm to 6 am, citizens are not allowed to set off fireworks and firecrackers in normal use, and those who violate the regulations will face a fine of NT$30,000 to NT$150,000, Zhuang said.
People who want to set off fireworks and firecrackers in normal use at the above-mentioned times or in prohibited places need to submit an application through the official website of the department, and indicate the clear location, time and number of fireworks and firecrackers.
