At present, the price of domestic travel is favorable, which is more economical than the National Day and May Day holidays. Tourism in the northern plateau is carried out in various forms such as group tours, hiking, and mountaineering. Specifically, the Hanoi-Sapa (Lao Cai) three-day, two-night trip costs around VND 2.7 million (US$113) per person, and the Hanoi-Ha Long (Quang Ninh) tour costs VND 3.6 million per person shield. In addition, leisure tourism such as Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay Cruises, which cost 3.2-3.8 million VND per capita, are also chosen by many tourists.

Assessing travel trends during the National Day holiday, VietSense Travel director Nguyen Van Tai said that after a long summer holiday, tourists will tend to choose short-term trips. In the north, trips to Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai), Ha Giang and Ba Bai (Pakan), Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island (Haiphong) will be favored by many. These are also the products that offer the best prices to customers.

Many tourists choose popular destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) and Phu Quoc (Kian Giang). Nguyen Thi Huyen, director of GBest Travel Company, said that while travel around the Sept. 2 holiday was not as “hot” as the summer holidays, it was still a busy time for the travel industry. Hanoi is also an attractive destination for tourists from neighboring provinces and foreign tourists.

Thailand, China, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan are the first choices of outbound travel for many Vietnamese. Nguyen Huu Cuong, director of Tranhang An Tourism Company, said that while air tickets for many domestic routes are quite high, the cost of traveling abroad is between 7 and 10 million VND, so many Vietnamese tourists choose to travel abroad.

Airfare prices during this time are two or even three times higher than usual. For example, if a passenger chooses to take Vietjet Air’s Hanoi-Phu Quoc route on August 31 or September 1, the fare ranges from VND1.6 million to more than VND2 million one-way, depending on the flight time. If you fly with Vietnam Airlines, the one-way fare is 2.4 million VND or more.

Phung Quang Thang, vice chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that during this holiday season, the trend of small group and family self-guided travel is still the choice of many people.

“Families should plan booking services in advance and calculate routes and destinations to avoid congestion and overloading at certain attractions,” Thang said, adding that tourists are advised to choose reputable travel agencies when booking tours to avoid being scammed.

Many tourists choose to visit Hanoi during the National Day holiday because autumn is the most beautiful season in Hanoi. According to the Hanoi Tourism Office, tourists can visit the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long or the ruins of Hoa Lu Prison at night, explore the old quarter or handicraft villages.

In addition, the business center also provides a variety of services for tourists to shop or experience ice skating in the imperial city area, visit the aquarium in Times City or Lotte city area, and watch the animal world in Hanoi Zoo or Baoshan Paradise Park. /.VNA
