Nepal’s flag carrier, Nepal Airlines (NAC), delayed its Dubai flight by 11 hours after the designated pilot reported health problems at the 11th hour.

The airline’s assistant spokesman, Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, informed that flight RA229 was scheduled to depart at midnight on Saturday (12am on Sunday), but the flight took off around 11am on Sunday.

According to him, the flight was delayed because one pilot was ill and the other was unable to take over.

The company said 266 people had received boarding passes for the Dubai flight and they were held at various hotels in Kathmandu overnight.
