KUCHING (July 28): The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta), the State Tourism Office (STO) and Malaysia Airlines Group (MAG) will collaborate to organize a media tour for European media professionals.

In a press release, Mata said the media tour was aimed at promoting Malaysia and sourcing emerging European markets.

“The Malaysia Travel Media Gathering networking event was held at the Matta Pavilion during ITB Berlin 2023, attracting more than 40 media professionals, bloggers and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

“The event provided an opportunity for Malaysian STO partners such as Tourism Perak, Global Tourism Penang, Sabah Tourism and Selangor Tourism to engage with the media,” Mata said.

Media professionals selected for the trip will embark on a dedicated STO itinerary highlighting new iconic tourist attractions in the four states.

It will provide participants with the opportunity to experience and report on famous destinations in Malaysia first-hand.

The flight, comprising Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings, will be sponsored by MAG and will showcase the airline group’s comprehensive coverage to destinations across the country.

The event is fully supported by Matta’s technology partner, Fusionex, a leading global AI and data technology provider that develops and manages mattaonline.travel – an online marketplace where consumers can purchase a variety of value-for-money vacation packages.
