The Philippine Travel Agents Association (PTAA) successfully held the 29th TravelTour Expo (TTE) 2022 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila with over 30,000 visitors, 150 exhibitors and 280 booths.

PTAA President and TTE 2022 Chair Michelle Taylan said the biggest annual travel and tourism event is something the association has been waiting for and planning as individual postponed travel plans move forward as the economy reopens . With the easing of travel restrictions, international travelers can visit the country with peace of mind and more people can move freely and travel worry-free.

This year, the PTAA’s annual event is themed “Bravely Shaping the Future of Travel,” symbolizing the association’s strength and drive to move forward. Taylan points out that there will always be unforeseen challenges, “It opened our eyes to what leisure, entertainment and travel can look like beyond our imagination.”

She said their experience with the pandemic forced them to rethink what they knew about travel and tourism and encouraged them to do better.

“We are very confident that the Expo will provide a huge boost to the recovery of the tourism industry,” Tylan added. “Not only can this event serve as an avenue to network business with other stakeholders or promote a travel destination, but it is also an ideal place to meet and reunite with family and colleagues and discuss future travel.”

Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Woodrow Maquiling, Jr. congratulated the PTAA for doing what it does best — showcasing tourism in the Philippines.

Maquiling, a recipient of the Lapu-Lapu Medal and Kamagi rank, said the travel and tourism industry has restarted and there is a new demand for more frequent, more indulgent and, above all, vacations far from home.

“It’s time for us to go further and make this wave of renewed confidence a real turning point for Philippine tourism. But make no mistake, the more we talk, the harder our job is,” he stressed .

“But knowing that we have no less than incoming DOT Secretary Maria Cristina García-Flasco determined to work with us is enough assurance that we will not only reclaim the Philippines’ place on the global stage, but even surpass it.”

Beautiful destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, Iloilo, Manila and Tagaytay await guests.

They can now have even more reasons to go on vacation, choosing travel accommodations to pique their interest while staying at Megaworld Hotels and Resorts (MHR), the country’s largest home-grown hotel chain.

Eleven hotels from all over the country participated in the recent 29th TTE organized by the PTAA. Travelers visited booths 250 to 254 and enjoyed different and exciting room deals and packages at all MHR locations.

Buyers can enjoy discounts of up to 70% on accommodation, including free buffet breakfast and other perks, depending on the hotel. Select hotels also offer restaurant gift certificates to make their trip even more memorable.

The TTE showcases the products and services of its members and has grown into a highly anticipated annual industry event covering virtually all areas of the travel business, making it the largest event in the travel industry.
