Visitors entering the Maldives must undergo a COVID-19 test:

All tourists are required to have a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test (PCR test) before entering the Maldives.

Requirements for pre-arrival PCR testing:

According to Thomas Cook regulations, to enter the Maldives, a PCR test sample must be collected no more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time from the first port of embarkation to the Maldives. Children under one year do not need to be tested for COVID-19. For passengers who transit during the journey, the initial PCR test is valid if the transit does not exceed 24 hours. If the passenger transit time exceeds 24 hours, the passenger must take the PCR test again within 72 hours before boarding the ship at the transit port.

Mandatory restrictions on travel within the Maldives for tourists with COVID-19:

If you test positive when entering an island, visitors must abide by the HPA’s restrictions on inter-island travel.

Entry into the Maldives and airport public health interventions:

a) Passengers traveling to and from the Maldives should submit a self-health declaration within 24 hours before travel. This health declaration must be completed and submitted electronically through the Maldives Immigration Online Portal.

b) People who have been in contact with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and/or have fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath in the past 14 days should not travel to the Maldives.

c) All visitors are advised to install the contact tracing app “TraceEkee”.
