Laos and Cambodia strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries

Lao and Cambodian authorities recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism cooperation between the two countries by organizing private tours in Vientiane, Laos.

In order to attract more tourists from China and other European countries, Ms. Suanesavanh Vignaket, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, confirmed that Laos is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this field.

According to the Vientiane Times, the agreement aims to improve the standards of tourist personnel to ensure greater efficiency and attract more investment to promote the recovery of tourism in both countries.

The two sides will simplify port entry and exit procedures, launch exclusive promotional activities and “Two Countries One Stop” promotional video, and promote the opening of more flights between popular tourist destinations in Laos and Cambodia.

In addition, the two countries agreed to explore the possibility of connecting tourist destinations by arranging Mekong cruises, and implement community-based food tourism by holding food festivals or food forums in their respective countries.
