Korean Air backs bid to host Expo 2030 Busan | News
Korean Air is providing various support for South Korea’s successful bid to host Expo 2030 in Busan, South Korea’s second largest city.
A World Expo is an international event that celebrates humanity and addresses current issues facing our civilization. At previous World Expos, landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty have been unveiled one after another, and new technologies such as telephones, televisions, and elevators have also been unveiled one after another.
The host country for Expo 2030 will be decided by an election later this year by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) following a program review of candidate countries.
Korean Air will provide flight booking and transportation support for the upcoming BIE investigation mission visiting Korea in April. The airline also displayed a promotional video for Busan’s bid to host the Expo through its inflight entertainment system and in the lounge at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport. Korean Air’s in-flight magazine, Morning Calm, will also feature a promotional article highlighting Busan’s ability to host Expo 2030.
The airline will also promote the bid through a promotional campaign with its professional men’s volleyball team, the Korean Air Jumbos. Fans will see promotional videos and messages of support for the expo on LED displays in the stadium. A message of support and encouragement will be sent to numerous volleyball fans and spectators across the country as the V-League Championship kicks off on March 30 at the Korean Air Stadium in Gyeyang, Incheon.
