Entry Requirements

Many people love Thailand for its relaxed nature, but the current restrictions are don’t relax. The following are the admission requirements for the Samui Sandbox program starting June 15:

  • Travellers should avoid crowded places for 14 days before arriving in Thailand (although they won’t check this)
  • Travelers need to arrive from a list of approved countries set by the CCSA, and travelers must spend more than 21 days in an approved country before flying to Thailand.
  • All travelers require a Certificate of Entry (COE)
  • Proof of official PCR test negative within 72 hours prior to arrival
  • Travelers will need a proof of insurance showing the cost of health care and treatment for COVD-19 up to a maximum of $100,000
  • If travelers stay for less than 14 days, they will need proof of an outbound flight from Koh Samui
  • Travelers also need proof of WHO-approved vaccinations and you need to have your last vaccination at least 14 days before your arrival in Thailand
  • Passengers under the age of 18 are required to undergo a PCR test

Restrictions on arrival

So, once you land, are you probably ready to enjoy those beautiful Koh Samui beaches? incomplete, The following are the travel restrictions on arrival:

  • All passengers are required to undergo a health check upon arrival
  • Travellers also need to download a health app on their phone throughout their stay
  • Passengers will then undergo a PCR test (own expense)
  • On day 6 or 7, the traveler will need another PCR test
  • Passengers staying 10-14 days will need another PCR test on day 12 or 14 (yes, four PCR tests in total)

Travelers are free to travel anywhere on the island if they test negative under the designated pilot destination. Therefore, some places may be off-limits. Travelers can travel around the country after 14 days in Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.

Thailand is suffering its worst COVID-19 outbreak since the pandemic began. There have been 86 COVID deaths, including 9,539. As a result, Bangkok has gone into lockdown and the Thai government is in a race with the Delta Variant strain.
