Kathmandu bans vehicles from entering Basantapur Durbar Square

Kathmandu City has banned vehicles from entering Basantapur Durbar Square.

The metropolis took this decision to preserve the originality of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mayor Baron Shah said that since Kathmandu is known for its ancient heritage, there is a need to preserve it.

“This is one thing we can proudly show the world. We need to save them because millions of people will come to see this,” he said.
