India’s prolific striker Jasprit Bumrah, who has been sidelined since last September, is likely to return for the Irish series, which begins on August 18.
While the latest news from the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Bumrah’s recovery is encouraging, the Times of India has reported that the 29-year-old could play three T20Is in Ireland next month.
According to BCCI, Bumrah is in the final stages of recovery from a lower back injury in 2022 and is currently bowling at full capacity on the tennis court.
The BCCI expects him to play a few practice games at the National Cricket Academy before making phone inquiries about his fitness and return to the team.
