Former Australian coach Justin Lange has been confirmed as the new head coach of the Lucknow Supergiants.
Despite media controversy over his appointment, the team confirmed the news an hour after announcing their parting ways with Andy Flower, who had been head coach for the past two seasons.
As the head coach, Lange won the 2021 T20 World Cup with the Australian team. He also won multiple Big Bash Championships with the Perth Scorchers.
“The Lucknow Super Giants are writing a fantastic story in the IPL. We all have a role to play in this journey and I am delighted to be part of the team going forward,” Lange said after his appointment.
Although the Lucknow side have reached the playoffs twice since their inception, they hope Lang can lead them to the championship this time around.
