Neom’s entire metropolis looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, and so does Trojena. As well as the ski resort, the area will also feature a three-kilometre man-made lake and a folded vertical village called The Vault. Nestled in a valley in the mountains, it “has its own microclimate, lush greenery, water features and remodeled architecture.”

The 2,400-meter high-altitude ski village is “a first for Saudi Arabia”. The plan is to have multiple slopes that people can ski on. The piste promises to be suitable for professionals and amateurs alike.

Best of all, outdoor skiing is possible year-round—it just isn’t always the case on the snow. Trojena will utilize different surfaces. A video showing a skier descending what almost looks like a grassy slope is sure to be a unique experience for tourists.

In addition to the architecturally complex Vault and ski resort, Trojena will also feature a range of retail outlets as well as family and wellness resorts. Other sporting activities include mountain biking and water sports, while those who prefer a relaxing time in nature can spend the day at the interactive nature reserve. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
