Indonesian coffee promoted at Vietnam Travel Fair
The target of 74,000 Vietnamese tourists is the most likely to be achieved…”
Hanoi (ANTARA News) – Indonesian coffee was promoted during the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2018 held at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center.
The country pavilion at Hall B1 is crowded with tourists looking for information on Indonesian tourist destinations and tourists who want to taste Nusantara coffee, Heri Hermawan, head of marketing area IV for the Indochina region of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, said here on Sunday.
The ministry has been promoting Indonesian coffee while participating in tourism markets in various countries including India, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan and South Korea.
“Indonesian coffee stalls always attract tourists, except for the replica of the Pinisi Nusantara boat displayed in front of the Indonesia pavilion,” he said.
Indonesian barista Grammy Marella Averil of Home Coffee Roastery in Solo served coffee to as many as 300 visitors a day during the Vietnam Travel Mart.
Averil, 29, serves coffee lovers in Hanoi with four coffees – Aceh Gayo, Toraja, Mandailing and Sidikalang.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism has set a target of attracting at least 74,000 Vietnamese tourists in 2018, up from 64,000 in 2017.
Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi told ANTARA News during VITM 2018: “The target of receiving 74,000 Vietnamese tourists is most likely to be achieved because Vietnam has experienced high economic growth in the past 10 years.”
He pointed to an increase in the number of wealthy Vietnamese, some of whom are interested in traveling abroad.
However, traveling to Indonesia from Hanoi is problematic as there are no direct flights.
“The problem of inconvenient transportation has led Vietnamese to choose to vacation in Thailand, Malaysia, China, Japan and Hong Kong,” he said.
From March 29 to April 1, 2018, Indonesia sent 7 travel agencies from Bali and Yogyakarta to participate in VITM.
