IndiGo to be first Indian airline to start international operations from Bhubaneswar | Indian Flower
NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Utkal Divas, India’s leading airline, IndiGo, has announced and started booking flights between Bhubaneswar and Dubai.
The inaugural international flight from Bhubaneswar will depart from Biju Patnaik International Airport on 15 May 2023. IndiGo is working closely with the Odisha government to strengthen connectivity to the state from Bhubaneshwar, its international operations.
International flight operations will also begin from Bhubaneswar to two other destinations – Singapore and Bangkok – with flight schedules and other operational requirements being finalized.
Direct connections to air hubs such as Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok will help tap the huge potential for economic growth through improved accessibility. IndiGo recently won a bid to operate direct flights to these three important gateways.
Under the agreement, IndiGo will operate three weekly direct flights from Biju Patnaik International Airport. Fares for the inaugural Bhubaneswar-Dubai route have been set at Rs 10,000 one-way and Rs 20,000 round-trip.

A direct connection to Dubai, one of the largest aviation hubs, will open a direct gateway to the world. It will not only providing seamless connectivity and will also have a huge multiplier effect on investments in industries such as IT, manufacturing and tourism in Odisha.”
