India: International flights to be launched soon

The good news is that India is ready to resume international flight operations to and from the country. Airlines from the US, Germany, France and the UAE will soon resume scheduled international flights to the country. Ahead of the announcement, bubbles between India and the three countries were confirmed.

The same was shared on social media by Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who also announced the same.

Mr Puri also addressed the media on Thursday, confirming the existence of bubbles between India, the US, Germany and France. “Until international civil aviation can return to pre-pandemic levels in numbers, the answer lies in these bilateral bubbles that will carry as many people as possible under the conditions set forth,” he said.

He also confirmed that Air France will operate 28 flights on the Delhi-Mumbai-Bangalore segment between July 18 and August 1. He also said the flights would not be regular commercial flights and all tickets would be strictly one-way.

It is important to note that these flights are only available to Indian nationals or persons with Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) status. Only some foreigners are currently allowed on these flights.
