IND vs WI: Ishan Kishan credits Rishabh Pant with first Test in half-century
Ishan Kishan surprised many by replacing centurion Virat Kohli to move up to fourth, but India will be hoping the left-hander will show off his power-hitting skills for an added boost Run fast.
He did the same.
Kishan, however, had a special bat in his hand when he took part in the second Test. Willow is engraved with “RP17” to denote special connection with Rishabh Pant.
Kishan hit pants shots, including several one-handed sixes, and hit his first Test 50 with just 33 balls. It was Kishan’s signature one-handed six that completed the half-century.
Speaking at the end of Day 4, Kishan attributed his performance largely to Panter, who is currently recovering from a devastating crash in December 2022.
The 25-year-old said: “Before this I was in the NCA. Pant was there too. He knows how I play. We’ve known each other since we were under 19. That tells me a little bit about where my bat is.
