Google Destination Insights shows that in early December 2021, the number of people searching for Vietnam travel gradually increased, and then spiked in late December and early January 2021.
In the past month, it reported a very high level of aviation-related search results, up 425% compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the demand for information on accommodation facilities rose sharply in early January, with a year-on-year increase of 42%.
People looking for travel information in Vietnam are mainly from the United States, Australia, Russia, France, Singapore, India, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom and Canada.
The tool also shows that the top 10 domestically searched destinations are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet, Da Nang, Hoi An, Da Lat, Quy Nhon and Vung Tau.
The recent growth is largely attributable to the launch of the “Living to the Best of Vietnam” campaign, which aims to invite international tourists back to Vietnam, promoting it as a safe and attractive destination.
