As we reported in this article the other day, wildfires are raging in the Okanagan region of British Columbia, Canada.

BC Friday, August 18Provincewide state of emergency declared to support rapid wildfire response and recovery effortsdid. The proclamation allows states to issue emergency orders, including restricting movement to specific areas if necessary.

The state issued an emergency order the next day, Saturday, August 19.

These restrictions support accommodations for evacuees and emergency and essential workers and are currently in effect until the end of September 4, 2023.
