[How to use]I actually used Singapore’s electronic immigration card “SG Arrival Card” to enter the country | TeraDas
I used the electronic immigration card to apply for the “SG Arrival Card”. I actually passed the immigration inspection in Singapore, so I reported it.
Since August 14, 2019, the Singapore government has significantly expanded the number of users of the electronic arrival card application “SG Arrival Card”. Therefore, passengers of Singapore Airlines are also eligible to use the system and it becomes convenient in every way.
Download the Singapore Arrival Card app here.
By the way, you can submit your immigration card not only from the app but also from the web.
But with the app, you can use your camera to read the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) of your passport, making it a little easier to fill out.
The immigration card is usually filled out on the plane, but if you are a person like my wife who struggles every time, it will be very convenient if you can fill it out at home before departure.
The general procedure before submitting the arrival card together with the “SG Arrival Card” is as follows.
- Personal data registration
- Register and send travel information
Currently, the app only supports English. However, I personally don’t think it’s difficult.
When you open the SG Arrival Card app, first register your ‘Profile’.
Add registration with “+” in the upper right corner.
You can enter all items manually, but you can also use your smartphone camera to read the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) of your passport.
Automatically input name, gender, date of birth, passport number, passport validity period, nationality, etc. convenient!
Depending on the model of the smartphone, there may be many errors in the automatic reading. For example, the iPhone is full of bugs. This is very important information, so be sure to review and correct it, including automatically entered items. Also, manually enter the remaining items that are not automatically entered, and finally press the “SAVE” button.
Profile creation is now complete.
Next, register a person for Trip Info through “Individual Submission”.
(*For reference, multiple people can apply in “Group Submission”.)
Trip Info is the date of arrival in Singapore, departure date, mode of travel, carrier used when traveling, flight number, mode of stay,
Where to stay ・Pick-up point before entering Singapore ・First disembarkation point after leaving Singapore ・Have you ever entered Singapore under a different name? .
This time I stayed at the same hotel consecutively, so I registered only this content through the “Next” → “Submit” button.
After entering a number to avoid robots, say “DE No”.
This completes the program.
Speaking of which, there is no input box for “occupation”. I remember that in other countries, I used to write down my occupation, but in Singapore, even the paper immigration card is not required to be filled.
Also, since I didn’t go from Singapore to Indonesia, Malaysia and other countries this time, there is no particular problem applying from the app, but when I leave Singapore for another country, I need a stub of the immigration card. I am entering Singapore, so I should check whether there is any problem with this method in advance.
You don’t need to pay attention to anything when going through immigration procedures. In my case, it’s ok if I go through immigration with my passport and e-ticket.
It seems that my wife asked me, what is your (immigration/exit) card? I didn’t have to show my issued “DE No” on my smartphone screen and felt like the exam was going faster than other applicants.
Somehow, I feel like it’s a well-established structure and system.
Personally, I don’t hate paper immigration cards because they make me feel like I’m traveling, but my partner asks me, “What’s my passport number? What’s my flight number? Should I write my occupation do you?” Can you tell me something? ’, so I’m easily overwhelmed by questions, so if there’s such a system, I can have a relaxing time on the plane. I feel.
Anyway, if you go to Singapore, try to apply using the app.
