Thousands of Brits visit Hong Kong every year, and as Christmas approaches, you might want to visit family or do some sightseeing. Although some Covid restrictions are still in place, people are still encouraged to visit to boost tourism.
If you’re thinking of traveling somewhere extraordinary, it pays to check the latest coronavirus regulations before flying from Heathrow or other airports in the UK. Every country has its own rules that must be followed or there will be consequences.
You may ask what are the regulations for entering Hong Kong? All visitors are required to provide a negative PCR test taken no more than 24 hours prior to departure and submit an online health and quarantine information declaration form.

All passengers arriving at Hong Kong International Airport are also required to undergo a PCR test, but do not need to wait for the results at the airport. As soon as you test negative, you will receive an amber QR code allowing you to leave your residence for three days and travel to certain restricted venues.
However, if you test positive, you must self-isolate for at least 7 days. You may be able to stay in your accommodation, or you may need to move to a designated quarantine hotel.
Do I need to be vaccinated when entering Hong Kong?
Both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers can enter Hong Kong, but some rules apply. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs suggested: “From September 26, Hong Kong residents who have not been fully vaccinated can enter Hong Kong. Non-residents who have not been fully vaccinated and have been to mainland China, Macau or Taiwan in the past 7 days will be refused entry to Hong Kong. .
“If you are not fully vaccinated for medical reasons, you may still be allowed to enter Hong Kong. You will be required to show proof of relevant medical reasons certified by a doctor before boarding a flight to Hong Kong.”
