Heathrow and Gatwick: a small village 3 hours from London nicknamed the “Bali of Europe”
Planning a vacation in the midst of a cost of living crisis is never easy. British holidaymakers are traveling on a smaller budget this summer, meaning many have had to rule out luxury trips to places like the Maldives, Thailand and Bali.
But there are other options in Europe that are easier to get to and less burdensome on your pocket. Take, for example, Dhermi in Albania, known as the “Bali of Europe”.
Albania may not be the first country that comes to mind when you think of a tropical paradise, but in recent years the coastal town of Delmi has become a popular of resorts.

Travel bloggers Scott and Sal, who have nearly half a million followers on Instagram, recently shared highlights from their trip to the beach resort, noting the “amazing” tropical beach clubs and “10 out of 10” Bali Island style waterfront home.
This seaside town offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like swimming, snorkeling and hiking.
Llogara National Park is just a short drive from Dhermi and offers stunning scenery and a variety of hiking trails for all levels, with panoramic views from the summit of Cika.
The village also has a rich cultural heritage, with many historical sites and landmarks to explore. Some of the famous attractions in Dhermi include Dhermi Castle, St. Theodore Monastery and Gjipe Gorge.
Dhermi also has a variety of restaurants and cafes serving delicious Albanian cuisine, including fresh seafood and traditional dishes such as burek, a delicious pastry made of layers of phyllo dough and filled with meat, cheese or vegetables. You can also try fërgesë, a hearty dish of peppers, tomatoes, onions and cheese.
Visitors can also take a boat trip to nearby beaches and bays, or just relax and soak up the sun on the sand.
The easiest way to get to Dhermi from London is to take a 3-hour flight to Tirana, the capital of Albania, and then take a bus or rent a car to Dhermi. Several airlines operate direct flights between London and Tirana, including British Airways, EasyJet and Wizz Air.
If you prefer a more direct and hassle-free option, you can also arrange a private transfer from Tirana to Dhermi through a local travel agency or taxi service. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Book your flight via JetBlue Airways, Finnair, british airways and KLM or accommodation via reservation network.
