Gurkha reports coronavirus-related deaths

Gurkha, September 6: Gurkha reported one coronavirus-related death on Sunday.

A swab sample of a 75-year-old woman who died while being treated at Gurkha Hospital on Saturday tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Krishna Dhakal, information officer at Gurkha Hospital, said her throat swab sample was collected on Friday and sent for COVID-19 testing. She also suffers from chronic illness.

Doctors and other staff in the hospital’s emergency department have self-isolated following the woman’s death.

The hospital administration has made preparations to dispose of the dead bodies.
