The number of Chinese premium cars registered on the platform will increase by 3% in the first two quarters of 2023
This year, GetTransfer.com, the world’s leading marketplace for pick-up services and chauffeured car rentals, reported a significant increase in the number of Chinese luxury car brands operating on the platform this year, including Hongqi, Voyah, Changan, Gaohe, Lixiang and others.
Last year, 547 carriers added to GetTransfer.com’s fleet with Chinese vehicles listed in various countries. The rise of Chinese auto brands has sparked fierce competition with their European counterparts. Currently, the platform hosts 13 Chinese premium brands, accounting for about 3% of the total number of cars available.

In addition to the rise of Chinese premium cars on GetTransfer.com, the Chinese luxury car market itself has experienced significant growth. According to the report, the market is valued at US$155.2 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach US$295.19 billion by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.37% from 2021 to 2028.
Chinese automakers are firmly dominating the luxury car market, developing their own premium and electric vehicles to challenge established international brands. In the traditional auto market, however, local brands face challenges as Chinese consumers tend to prefer more expensive cars, viewing them as status symbols rather than domestically produced economy vehicles. SAIC Motor became the largest automaker in China in 2021 with sales of about 2.76 million vehicles, followed by Changan Automobile with sales of about 1.76 million vehicles. These companies have also expanded into the luxury car market, creating divisions for higher-end vehicles, such as Zhuge Smart, which provides an artificial intelligence luxury electric car that will be launched in 2025.
