Familiarization visit with top Singapore tour company in Seychelles

Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) successfully organized the visit with the support of various local partners following a sales visit in Singapore by Ms Amia Jovanovic-Desir, Country Director for India, Australia and South East Asia earlier this year.

Ms. Crystal Sims, CEO of the international travel agency Albatross World, deliberately spent ten days getting familiar with Seychelles before the end of October 2019. This trip is also an excellent opportunity for her to experience Seychelles products and services.

During her working visit to Seychelles, Ms Sim had the opportunity to get an overview of the destination through the various attractions in Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, the most frequented islands, including pristine beaches and Ouai Laide step.

As part of her exploration of the island and its attractions, Ms Sims also had the opportunity to stay at the Four Seasons Resort and Hilton Seychelles on Desroche Island, LaBriz Resort and Spa in Silhouette.

Several meetings were held with key tourism stakeholders, including Seychelles’ main Destination Management Company (DMC), through which representatives showcased their products and services, giving Singaporean professionals a clearer picture of holidaymakers What to expect in Seychelles.

Ms Sims also met Mr Didier Dogley, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Maritime, Ms Sherin Francis, STB Chief Executive Officer and her team, during which they discussed a strategic approach on how to enter the Singapore market. Throughout the debate, all partners agreed , further cooperation with tourism trade partners at both ends needs to be encouraged.

Ms. Sims mentioned that her knowledge of Seychelles exceeded her expectations. She added that she was impressed by the natural beauty of the islands and the strong commitment of the people of Seychelles, including the government, to protect the environment.

“The world loves travelers who roam beautiful places with ease, and one corner of the planet that has not been fully appreciated is Seychelles. If we understand Seychelles, we will be better people, truly another world,” Ms Sims says

Talking about the Singaporean partner’s visit, Ms. Amia Jovanovic-Desir mentioned that she was pleased to see that STB’s continuous efforts to meet international partners paid off.

“As a lead partner with several international partners, this collaboration adds to our marketing strategy and further our presence in the market of what we are currently doing. FAM travel is the most cost-effective destination for destinations,” added Amia Jovanovic- Desir One of the best marketing campaigns to attract more agents to increase their knowledge about Seychelles and its products and drive more interest into sales.

Ms. Jovanovic-Desir expressed STB’s heartfelt thanks to all partners who supported the success of this FAM trip, and she especially thanked Desroche Four Seasons Resort, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and SPA, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and SPA, Double Tree by Hilton Seychelles, Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove and Patatran Hotel.
