Celebrate the grand opening of our new permanent exhibition explore asia! Highlighting six unique experiences in five Asian countries, explore asia is the only interactive learning exhibit dedicated to Asia in Texas.
Enjoy free admission and be among the first to take part in immersive journeys in China, India, Japan, Korea and Vietnam! Travel through time on a virtual bullet train, learn about delicious food and food (and where to find them in Houston), hit our stage with a drum show, and more.
Our three-day grand opening kicks off each day with a lively lion dance and offers entertainment for all ages, food and activities to celebrate the exhibit. Gain a deeper understanding of key countries and their arts, culture and traditions through hands-on activities and demonstrations, and enjoy story time and locally-owned food trucks as part of the fun!

The Asia Society Texas Center will be closed to the public on Friday, July 21 until the grand opening at 12 noon
Parking and Directions
Paid parking is available in the Asia Society Texas parking lot across Southmore Boulevard from the building. Entrance is on Caroline Street and Austin Street. Bike racks are provided free of charge in our parking lot.
Off street parking is also available. The center is a 5-minute walk from the Museumsquartier Underground Station.

Highlighting six unique experiences in five Asian countries, explore asia is the only interactive learning exhibit dedicated to Asia in Texas. Based on years of research and consultation with numerous academics and community partners, the educational exhibit aims to spark curiosity and highlight the interconnectedness between the people of Asia, Houston and the United States, based at the Texas Asia Society Believe in the Arts The power of education, dialogue, and ideas can remove prejudice and build a more inclusive society.
